Reclaimed Stair Treads, Risers, Winders and Kites
We have much experience of making a floor fit exactly into one room. Transitions between adjoining areas equally needs care and thought. As part of the pricing process, we do a take-off from drawings of each floor area and measure the exact width, length and dimension of each space. In this way we determine the ideal length and width of the battens, so the cuts and edge details at all borders, door thresholds and other transitions are balanced and finessed in an elegant way, for each and every job.
To this end, we use our antique and reclaimed timber we make stair treads, risers, winders and kites with finishes that match the floors. Components are created from templates supplied by the client and are available in full - or half-bullnoses. We ensure all treads are 100% fit for purpose making all components oversized for scribing in and fixing by others onsite. Given the semi-finished nature of our products, we supply small touch-up kits for others to apply after final fitting.
Many of our installs have been in very contemporary spaces. Our large stocks of wide, 66mm thick Reclaimed Oak raw material , particularly lends itself to full 40 to 60mm solid treads made for others to scribe and fix onto any structural sub-strate - particularly sculpted steel and metal staircases.
